Natural disasters, armed conflicts, and humanitarian crises create urgent needs for nutritionally complete, shelf-stable emergency food products. Current emergency rations often lack optimal nutrient density and bioavailability. To develop and characterize a nutrient-dense Super Food Bar designed for emergency situations, incorporating traditional and functional ingredients with extended shelf-life properties. A ten-component formulation was developed comprising wheat powder (20%), oat flour powder (20%), sesame seeds (17%), Moringa oleifera powder (10%), dried dates (10%), sucrose (8%), green tea powder (5%), dry milk powder (5%), cocoa powder (4%), and sodium benzoate (1%). Nutritional composition, energy content, and micronutrient profiles were analyzed using standard food analysis methods. The Super Food Bar provides approximately 400-500 kcal per 100g serving with balanced macronutrient distribution (15% protein, 55-60% carbohydrates, 12-15% fats). The formulation delivers significant quantities of essential vitamins (B-complex, vitamin E, vitamin C), minerals (calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc), antioxidants, and bioactive compounds. The inclusion of sodium benzoate ensures microbiological stability for extended storage.
